Hilary Duff Talks about Charity
NewsAndTribune recently sat down with Hilary Duff to do an interview while she was off doing her charity work for Blessings in a Backpack. She talks about how she got involved in the program, and what joy she gets from funding a whole school in LA (Normandie School). Her interview tells a lot about how the charity works, so I hope you take a chance to read it.
Hilary Duff talks in the interview about managing her career with her volunteer activities. Hilary says she loves her career, but that the volunteer work “really brings me back down to earth and keeps me grounded and makes me appreciate every little thing that happens in my life and everything that I have.” Really wonderful words.
Hilary is a very humble person, and very generous, so when it comes time to talking to a small group of her fans at these schools, she gets more nervous than singing in front of thousands of fans:
“It’s not like it’s a huge crowd of people. I can see everyone’s faces and they’re all taking my picture. I feel like a normal girl. So all that attention kind of flusters me, I guess, in the most positive way. I feel flattered at the same time. I feel shy, too, I guess.”
